    • Promoting the nature and size of angling catches for an angling charter business has a clear commercial and operational benefit, promoting the fishing charter business and building a public portfolio of successful trips.
    • Customers on a fishing trip usually expect photos to be taken and shared and are advised this on the trip. They can decline any photo taking of them with their catch if they wish and ask for it not to be used by the company.  
    • Customers who agree to photos and media being taken and used but subsequently change their mind, may advise us and we will not sue the media or of we have, endeavour to remove it from our site and/or social media channels.

How long we keep information

We are obliged by law to keep financial and taxation records for at least 5 years after the 31 January submission deadline of the relevant tax year.  This includes all sales and income and all business expenses that may relate to your business with us.

Posts on social media may remain on social media indefinitely and you should refer to these platforms for their privacy arrangements regarding right to deletion.  If you ask us to delete a post containing personally identifiable information from our feed we will endeavour to do this as quickly as possible.

Data for Under 18’s:

Our Justifiable Business Need for collecting data on children under 18 is a lawful reason, and includes verifying child-ticket pricing, checking safety equipment sizing and safety for our on-vessel trips, and complying with any child safeguarding requirements such as through an emergency or a statutory investigation. It is therefore necessary to ascertain ages of those booking services with or through us. We do not post identifiable pictures of under 18’s on social media or our website.

Who we share information with

Data processors

Website hosting agencies and media service providers, HM Coastguard, Harbour-master and Lifeboat Services. Any public body we are obliged legally to comply with.

Website hosting agencies and IT services host our e mail and website and assist with social media and other IT requests as required. They do not store financial or personal or health data on individuals.

The information that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored in, a country outside the European Economic Area (EEA) by a third party.  It may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA whom we contract or use. Such as Facebook and Google (Meta).  The laws in some countries may not provide as much legal protection for your information as in the EEA. By submitting your personal information, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing.

The ‘Emergency Condition’ may require us to share information with providers of emergency services who will be governed by their own policies.

We will take all steps that are reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your information transmitted to our site or e mail address; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
